Mr Ow Chio Kiat is currently the Executive Chairman of Stamford Land Corporation Ltd, Singapore Shipping Corporation Limited and Cougar Logistics Corporation Ltd.

 

He started his career in Hai Sun Hup, which was a cargo handling/port services company.  He expanded this into an international multi-faceted shipping and property group, forged joint-ventures with many major companies and held positions, inter-alia as Chairman of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Singapore), Sumitomo Warehouse Singapore etc.  Eventually, Hai Sun Hup Group Ltd was listed on the main board of the Singapore Stock Exchange in 1989 and subsequently renamed Stamford Land Corporation in 2001 to focus on its core hotel and property businesses.  Mr Ow established two other listed companies, viz Singapore Shipping Corporation in 2001 and Cougar Logistics Corporation in 2006.

Mr Ow is a qualified Chartered Shipbroker.  He is a member of the Singapore Australia Business Alliance Forum and was a Business Ambassador for the State of South Australia.  Mr Ow is Singapore's representative to the ASEAN Free Trade Area - Closer Economic Relations Business Council. He is also the Singapore representative for Bremen Business International and was recently honored by the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen for his 20 years of service.

Mr Ow was bestowed the Order of Bernardo O’Higgins with the rank of “Gran Oficial” by the President of Chile in 2000.  He was also awarded the President’s Medal by the Singapore Australian Business Council in 1999 to recognize his achievements and contribution to the Singapore Australia business relationship.   The IMCA and University of Action Learning conferred the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) honoris causa to Mr Ow in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2002.  Mr Ow was the Honorary Consul-General of the Slovak Republic to Singapore from 2001 to 2007. He was conferred the Golden Medal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic in recognition of his contributions to the development of relations between the Slovak Republic and Singapore in the political and economic realm. He is now Singapore Non-Resident Ambassador to Argentina.

Mr Ow is the Executive Deputy Chairman of SLC. He is also the Executive Deputy Chairman of SSC and CLC and a director of most of SLC, SSC and CLC's subsidiaries. Mr Ow is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. He is the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Singapore.



MR WONG HUNG KHIM
Mr Wong was appointed to the Board on 10 September 1996 and is the Chairman of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee. 

Mr Wong was a senior civil servant, having served as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development, Executive Director of the then Port of Singapore Authority, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Telecommunications Limited and Executive Chairman of Jurong Town Corporation. He was conferred the Meritorious Service Medal in 1992 by the Singapore Government and the Medal of Commendation (Gold) in 1995 by the National Trades Union Congress.

Until 31 December 2002, Mr Wong was the Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Delgro Corporation Ltd and SBS Transit Ltd and many of their subsidiaries. Mr Wong is currently a director of Medi-Flex and Allco SIF Limited.

Dr Tan was appointed to the Board on 4 January 2008 and is a member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee.

Dr Tan Chin Nam has had 33 years of distinguished service in the Singapore Civil Service holding various key appointments before completing his term as a Public Sector Leader at the end of 2007. 

Amongst his numerous appointments Dr Tan has held positions as Managing Director of the Economic Development Board between 1986 and 1994 and served as the Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) from 1994 to 1997. Dr Tan was also Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower from 1998 to 2001 and Chairman of the National Library Board from September 1995 to December 2002. Most recently, Dr. Tan held the position of Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts from 2006 to 2007 and has held the position of Chairman of Media Development Authority since 2003. He was awarded four Public Administration Medals comprising bronze, silver, gold (bar) conferred by the Government of Singapore and two honorary doctorate degrees.

MR MARK ANTHONY JAMES VAILE
Mr Vaile, an Australian was the former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia and resides in Sydney, New South Wales. 

Among his other directorships, Mr Vaile is also a Director of Virgin Blue and was in the property business prior to joining politics in 1993.

Prior to being appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Vaile was the Minister for Trade before assuming the post of Minister for Transport.
